  • Practiced law in litigation for 25 years, including litigation and arbitration of business disputes, serious personal injuries and wrongful death claims, insurance issues, church disputes, investment disputes, and related appeals.
    Richard L. Brittain has litigated for over 25 years. He is a member of the bar of the U.S. Supreme Court, of the bars of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit, and of various U.S. District Courts, and has litigated cases in a number of states.
  • He as co-counsel won a $55 million judgment against major Philadelphia and San Francisco firms, which was one of the largest forty judgments in 2001. He has obtained a number of multimillion dollar verdicts, judgments, and settlements. He has handled numerous appeals in both state and federal court, including a seminal decision on drug manufacturers' liability in the state (the ruling was in the client's favor).
  • He has tried numerous jury and bench trials, in both federal and state courts, in large and small cities and urban and rural settings, in a wide range of matters, ranging from civil rights claims to serious personal injury claims to sophisticated business transactional disputes.
  • He also counsels clients who are not yet involved in litigation and has successfully protected the rights of individuals, businesses, churches, and ministries in a wide range of areas, including employment disputes, insurance disputes, and sophisticated business disputes.
